Oefenweb’s Rekentuin, Taalzee and Words&Birds remain available as autonomous products, but become part of the complete solution Prowise GO, thus even more appealing to schools”, Ahrens elaborates.
Oefenweb for customised education
Oefenweb was created at the University of Amsterdam from the conviction that learning can be made smarter and more enjoyable. Based on scientific research in terms of how children learn, they develop the perfect education programme with equal opportunity for each pupil. Oefenweb founders Marthe Straatemeier and Han van der Maas are enthusiastic. “Becoming part of a pioneering company such as Prowise is not only fantastic news for the Oefenweb team, but also for our users. With this collaboration, we can continue to improve our advanced adaptive software; deploy it on a larger scale and develop further. As a player on the world stage (180 employees), Prowise can help us to achieve our mission of providing customised service to each pupil and teacher. This way we join forces to work towards the greater goal of better education”, says Straatemeier.

Roots in education
Both Prowise and Oefenweb were founded in 2009 from a similar education philosophy and complement each other well. At both companies, ideas are created by aligning the thoughts of education developers and innovators. Ever since its creation, Prowise has been investing in digital learning solutions that stimulate sharing knowledge. Michael Ahrens, Managing Director Prowise: “One-third of our people originates from the education sector. Therefore, we are able to satisfy the expectations of teachers and students with respect to the latest digital learning solutions.”
