If you gather more than 100 Prowise partners and technicians in the Hotel Pullman Eindhoven Cocagne, you’ll soon hear talk of the latest digital technologies and their application to the field of education. An impression of the Prowise Partner & Technical Event 2018.
With a little imagination, you could have called Eindhoven on 14-16 November the epicentre of the world of technology and education. More than 100 Prowise partners were invited to philosophize about the possibilities of applying trends such as Big Data and artificial intelligence to products destined for the classroom.
We, as society, are at the point where we can almost no longer understand how smart the computers around us are. Technological capabilities are endless. ‘This represents a crucial balance for us. Of course, we make smart, modern and technologically premium products. But we must make sure that our hardware and software solutions will actually be used in schools. In short, how do we make sure our technology remains usable, accessible and understandable?’, Prowise director Michael Ahrens said in his keynote speech.
Meanwhile, Prowise is active in more than 21 countries and among the top three in various European countries, director Erik Neeskens related during his presentation of the company’s development. He dished out numbers that make one dizzy. ‘Presenter and Oefenweb have more than 800,000 users combined. Together, these users perform more than 1,400,000 exercises in our programmes. We have the great task of handling all that data carefully and accurately – certainly now that Presenter is entirely free, and even more users will undoubtedly be added. The “Privacy Verified” certificate proves that we are doing that.’
